I remember waking up in that cell wondering, "How the hell did I get here and when am I going home?"

Prior to that moment in my life, I was a Son, a Father, and a Businessman. Being in charge was always in my blood. Ever since my first job in Burger King, my boss told me that I was gonna be someone great because of the way I carried myself. Back then, I didn't know what that meant exactly, but in retrospect, I know exactly what it was... I was destined to be an entrepreneur. My mother to this day still remembers me making her the promise of buying her a house so that we wouldn't have to live with other people. Before the existence of my son, I use to daydream about how I would pave the way, through financial assistance, for him to attend a 4 yr college, something very rare in my family. As I signed my business certificate for the first time that day I truly felt like I was on top of the world and that all my dreams and aspirations would come to past. Then that terrible day came when I made that awful mistake that almost cost me my life. Depression kicked in as many months went by without a word from the outside world. "Did I even exist to them?"

But God knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it. I needed Him. He came in and renewed my dead spirit. Eventually, He started using me to sing to His glory in the prison church. And then months later He sent MCOI in to counsel me and revive that entrepreneurial spirit in me.

Today I'm back on track. With the guidance of God and the counseling of MCOI, I was able to launch my business in mixed media (web, grphx, photo, and video)  in only 12 months after my release. Although I still hold on to a part-time job, all my time and energy goes into my business so that ultimately I can walked away from someone else's business and lead my own. I'm happy to say that my life has made a 360 back to where I was destined to be.
